The year 2023 has been a good year as far as tourism in Albania is concerned. The district of Berat was one of them that experienced an increase in visitors.
Tourist attractions such as the Castle, the museum districts, the Osum Canyons or Mount Tomori attracted tourists from all over the world.
“In Skrapar, our expectations were exceeded by the influx of tourism this year, and we can say that this number of tourists exceeds 100 thousand tourists who have visited the Skrapar area”, says Krenar Xhaferri, head of the Tourism sector.
Skrapar, the city of canyons and famous brandy, welcomed more tourists than it could handle. The accommodation units it offers are 285, a very small number compared to the number of daily visitors who visit the natural resources of this area.
“Skrapari has a limited number of accommodation structures with a total capacity of 285 places, so Skrapari cannot cope with this tourist flow, the tourists here were day tourists, they came, visited the area and returned to Berat again, and this is connected due to the limited accommodation capacity that the municipality of Skrapar currently has”, says Krenar Xhaferri.
One of the problems that tourists encountered during their visits to Skrapar was the road that leads to Çorovode. The residents call for measures to be taken for the coming year, as this will bring them back and they choose to visit the country.
