12 citizens lost their lives to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in our country, whereas a total of 533 new infections have been reported.
New cases were discovered after results came back on 3 956 tests.
In the past 24 hours, 696 citizens have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 163 018, since the outbreak of the virus in our country.
In addition, there are currently 7959 active carriers of the virus in our country, 167 of whom are admitted to hospital and 21 are exhibiting more severe forms of the virus.
The ministry of health continued their appeals to citizens to get vaccinated as soon as possible, announcing that the month of October will continue to serve as an ‘open month’ of vaccination for everyone over 18.
