The Border Police of Vlora has continued the work on the controls of the vessels. Recently, from Ksamil to Vlora, 14 vessels were blocked, among them speedboats, dinghies and Jet Skis.
So, drivers have been fined with administrative measures, thus protecting the safety of vacationers.
Notification from police:
Increased control measures for watercraft, for those that violate the perimeter of water safety by endangering the lives of beachgoers, for those that transport people over the allowed capacity or that navigate the sea and perform recreational activities with jet skis that are not equipped with documentation.
In the entire water space of the Vlorë district, control groups from the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police continue to check the vessels, with the only purpose of preventing incidents with consequences for the life and health of vacationers.
From Ksamil to Vlora, the Border Police has blocked 14 vessels.
Blocked vehicles: 5 Jet Skis, 3 dinghies and 6 speedboats.
6 watercraft, of which 2 Jet Skis, 3 dinghies and 1 speedboat, were blocked in Ksamil, Dhërmi, Jalë and Vlorë. In addition to the measure of blocking, the owners of these vehicles were each punished with the administrative measure of 100,000 new lek, after they were found by the services of the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit, within the security perimeter, endangering the lives of people.
The driver of one boat was fined 200,000 new lek, while the driver of another boat was fined 80,000 new lek, for violating the security perimeter and transporting citizens over the allowed capacity.
6 other watercraft, of which 3 Jet Skis and 3 speedboats, were blocked and each of the owners of the watercraft was punished with an administrative measure of 10,000 new lek, for lack of documentation.
As a result of the monitoring of the coastline and the water space of the Vlorë district, with the primary objective of guaranteeing the safety of the lives of citizens and vacationers, the Maritime Police Unit, in cooperation with the Border Police services of the DVKM Vlorë, only during the month of July, has blocked 81 vessels, which were found to be in various illegalities and in violation of the safety of beachgoers, and has punished their owners, with administrative measures, according to the law, for the found violations.
Of these, 7 administrative measures have been imposed on the basis of Law No. 43 of 2020 “On marine tourism”, article 24, letter ç “Exercising the activity of a marine tourism operator without a license, the relevant certificate according to article 5 of this law”, with a total value of 700,000 ALL.
