The number of tourists who slept in local hotels and guesthouses also increased in October. The data processed by INSTAT show a increase in the number of visitors, which statistically translates to a 40% annual increase.

Hotel bookings show that tourism had a good performance in October as well. With the data reported by the Institute of Statistics, a double-digit increase is observed both for the stays of residents and for foreign visitors.

The number of total visitors has increased by 41%, compared to October 2022. The night-stays have also increased by 70% compared to October last year.

The central and southern regions have the highest share of foreign visitors, with 34 and 29 thousand bookings, respectively.

In October, accommodation services received 152 thousand Albanian and foreign visitors, from 107 thousand that were reported in October 2022.

The mass choices of tourists in autumn have been the non-coastal areas such as Tirana, Korca, Gjirokastra or even the tourist villages in the north of the country.

According to the passport, citizens from Kosovo accounted for over 7% of the flow, followed by Germans with 6.7% and French with 3.3%.
