The construction, energy and mining sectors remain the places where more accidents occur at work but also with more fatalities. Representatives of the labor inspectorate show the statistics of the past year.

186 accidents were registered by the labor inspectorate during the past year. These statistics referring to this institution may be even greater as there are also cases of non-reporting due to the nature of the work or the lack of a contract, putting into question the safety of life.

Fictitious contracts, illegal work, delays in reporting accidents that occur in the workplace and the lack of recognition of rights at work are some of the factors that the national labor inspectorate does not have a complete report of these accidents.

Although accidents at the workplace are first reported in the media than to the relevant authorities, there is still a long way to raise the awareness of employees on safety at work and the right to protect life.
