2 months after the building that burned down in the ’21 Dhjetori’ area, in Tirana, the residents have issued a statement to the media, asking for a solution to the situation they are in.
“Until today, we do not have any information about the project that will fix the building, to systematize the internal parts of it. 2 months have passed from the construction institute and there is still no answer regarding the part of the reinforcements, how and when they will be done. 2 months should have been enough time to get an answer”, says a resident.
The building has so far been classified as uninhabitable. Residents are living on rent, and some others live with their relatives.
Euronews Albania has managed to get into the burned palace to see the damage caused up close. The building burned by the flames is without lights, without water and the residents find it impossible to live in it.
Meanwhile, the rains of the last few days have caused further damage to the apartments, creating moisture.
The building had only been built for a year, while some of the residents have indicated that they had taken loans to buy the apartments. The fire in the 10-story building in Tirana is suspected to have been caused by the non-standard installation of an air conditioner in the apartment on the 9th floor.
