3 patients have unfortunately lost their lives due to COVID-19, in the past 24 hours in Albania and 998 others have been infected.
The Ministry of Health also stated that the victims ranged from 43 to 74-years-old from the cities of Fier, Kavaja and Tirana. The number of fatalities in our country has now reached 2 531.
Authorities have also said that in the past 24 hours, over 5 800 citizens were tested for COVID-19, after which 17.7% came out positive.
At the moment, the number of active cases in our country tops 12 528. The majority of cases are in Tirana (4,870), Shkoder (1,696) and Durres (1,213).
1.18% of confirmed active cases needed specialized medical assistance and were admitted to hospital – 19 of whom are presenting severe symptoms.
For more than a month now, Albania has been struck by another wave of infections.
Authorities have continued their appeals with citizens to get their vaccines as soon as possible in order to avoid hospitalization.
