Tirana’s Police Department has released an official statement confirming that they’ve begun investigations into four of the most vocal participators and organizers that staged yesterday’s protest against price hikes, in front of the prime minister’s office.

They are being accused of unlawfully obstructing the traffic and blocking the main boulevard forcing the flow of traffic to slow down.

A big crowd gathered yesterday in front of the prime minister’s office in Tirana, to protest against the rise in the price of bread, coffee, electricity, and fuel.

During the rally, several citizens and personalities of public life took the stage and expressed their views, calling on citizens to get up and insist on having their democratic rights restored and respected by becoming a part of future rallies.

The protest went on peacefully and no incidents were reported.
