A police operation at the entrance to the city of Vlora has handcuffed a 51-year-old man from Lezhë, who was transporting 4 artisanal mines that detonate remotely.
The police, who had obtained the information with their own methods, ambushed the Ford type vehicle in which 51-year-old Petrit Ndoji was traveling and after checks discovered remote-controlled mines on the dashboard.
The police raise suspicions that these mines would be sold in Vlora to be used later for possible criminal events.
Mines were assembled by function, with telephones, follower detonators and C4 explosives.
Petrit Ndonji is arrested, he is resident in Lezhë, and is not known if he is simply their transporter and seller, or if he is the person who assembles explosive mines.
Earlier, the police of Vlora conducted 2 similar operations, where they captured 5 remote control mines and arrested 4 people.
Based on the fact that the black market of crime in Vlora seeks to buy mines with remote control, the reasonable suspicions of the police are related to possible criminal events and therefore, the police structures consider the action as prevention of crimes in the future.
2 weeks ago, near the village of Mbrostar in Fier, the police arrested a person with a criminal record. In the vehicle were found 21.3 kg of explosives material assembled and ready for remote detonation.
