Erion Veliaj, the mayor of Tirana, was honored today with the title of “Honorary Citizen” by the municipality of Presheva.

The Chairman of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Presheva, Sami Salihu, was the one who gave the title to Veliaj, in a solemn session held in the Municipal Assembly.

“I humbly accept this great honor. From tomorrow I will wake up every day saying not only what I will do for Tirana, where I have been elected to lead, but also what I will do for Presheva, the city that has honored me as its youngest citizen. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate it immensely. You have touched me a lot. I love you very much and I will continue to be your friend, your supporter, and feel a great love for Presheva”, said Veliaj.

He said that the Municipality of Tirana has made a concrete commitment to contribute to the education of children in the Presheva Valley.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of the Municipality of Presheva, Shqiprim Arifi, said that it is an honor for the city to give the title of “Honorary Citizen” to the mayor of Tirana.

Mayor Erion Veliaj is conducting an official visit to the Municipality of Presheva and Bujanovac.

At the start of this visit, Veliaj was received in a meeting by the Mayor of the Municipality, Shqiprim Arifi.
