Albania held its 4th intergovernmental conference today as part of its European Union integration process, with Prime Minister Edi Rama in attendance.

Poland’s Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski — representing the country currently holding the EU Council Presidency — said that the chapter clusters opened today are vital for Albania’s economic integration into the EU.

He praised the country for its commitment on the path to the European Union and highlighted that the majority of Albanians see their future in the EU.

“We closed 2024 with a visit to Albania; in 2025, EU enlargement is a top priority. The chapters we opened today are essential for Albania’s economic integration into the European Union. We congratulate the Rama government for its efforts on the EU path. I want to emphasize the fact that the overwhelming majority of Albanians support your journey, and this is a positive push to accelerate the process. I congratulate Albania for being a reliable partner in the field of security, as a NATO ally and for its support for Ukraine. The EU represents a good, safe, and prosperous future — something we have experienced in Poland since 2004,” said Sikorski.
