The National Food Authority (AKU) has blocked five shipments of corn intended for animal feed after high levels of aflatoxin B1 were detected.

Four of the shipments originated from Serbia and one from Greece, and they were identified by the regional directorates of Shkodër and Vlorë. The shipments will be returned to their country of origin or destroyed.

AKU announced that it has notified INFOSAN and RASFF in order to communicate with the Serbian and Greek authorities.
