In just one week, over 83,000 people have traveled through Pristina Airport, with a total of 620 flights being conducted during this period.

The spokeswoman for the airport, Valentina Gara, provided this information, noting that the number of people traveling outside of Kosovo has increased since the visa liberalization on January 1, including those arriving in Kosovo for the year-end holidays.

“In just one week, over 83,000 people have traveled through Adem Jashari Airport. A total of 620 flights have been conducted,” she said.

Additionally, the company managing and operating Pristina International Airport, “Limak Kosovo”, announced that during the first three days of January this year, over 10,000 more passengers traveled through Adem Jashari Airport compared to the same period last year.

“In the first three days of January 2023, a total of 20,163 passengers traveled through Pristina International Airport Adem Jashari. Meanwhile, in the first three days of January 2024, 31,905 passengers traveled,” they stated.

This figure undoubtedly includes a significant number of migrants who spent the festive days with their families.

On another note, citizens of Kosovo have started traveling to European Union countries, as the implementation of the decision to liberalize visas for Kosovo began on January 1.

They can now travel without visas to the 27 Schengen Area countries, including Spain, which however does not recognize Kosovo’s independence, but decided to recognize its passport.

Regarding visa-free movement, the stay in the Schengen Area cannot exceed 90 days within a 180-day period. Additionally, citizens do not have the right to work, as a separate visa is required for employment.
