690 thousand visitors to Albanian museums and castles, 46.5% are foreign tourists

Cultural heritage institutions have attracted the attention of many visitors. 46.5% of which are foreign tourists. If Albanians prefer to go to museums, foreigners prefer archaeological parks.

Groups of foreigners visiting Albania can be met every day in the country’s capital, Tirana.

They are curious to know closely not only Albania today, but also the past, culture and historical heritage of Albania.

According to INSTAT data, in 2022, there are about 690,000 visitors, of which 320,788 are foreign tourists who visited museums, forts and archaeological parks.

Foreigners have preferred in most cases to visit the archaeological parks. They make up 56.8% of the total visitors.

Meanwhile, they showed less curiosity about the forts, where foreigners account for 29.4% of visitors.

And when it comes to museums, we see that more than 50% of visitors are Albanians and less foreigners.
