The city of Korçë and its tourist villages — Voskopoja, Boboshtica, and Dardha — have attracted a significant influx of foreign tourists this year, coming not only from European countries but also from beyond. According to local tourism operators, over 85% of visitors during this season have been foreign nationals.

Anila Kapurani, administrator of a hotel in the center of Korçë, stated that the increase in foreign tourists over the past two years is largely due to cooperation with domestic and international travel agencies.

“The trend in recent years shows that agencies are partnering with hotels to bring tourists. Foreign visitors demand high standards, so agencies tend to work with larger hotels. We’ve hosted tourists from France, Germany, Bulgaria, and in recent years from Israel as well. Greek visitors are numerous, and Croatian travel agencies have shown growing interest. We’ve had long-term relationships with these agencies, and we’re already booked through the end of November,” said Kapurani.

Klarita Duni, manager of a hotel in the Old Bazaar of Korçë, confirmed that the number of foreign visitors has increased this year and noted that bookings for 2026 have already begun.

“This growth comes thanks to strong promotion of Albania’s tourism — especially Korçë — and improved collaboration with both foreign and local agencies. Advertising and online reviews have a major impact, and we’ve worked with international agencies that bring foreign tourists. The demand keeps growing, and we’re already receiving reservations for 2026 and beyond,” Duni said.

Foreign tourists have shown particular interest in visiting cultural and archaeological heritage sites in Korçë and its surrounding areas.
