After long negotiations and bureaucratic problems on transport, 200.000 coronavirus vaccines produced by Chinese manufacturer “Sinofarm” have landed in North Macedonia.
The country aims to use the Chinese jab to rollout a massive vaccination campaign and inject 10,000-15,000 doses per day.
Until now, the country has mainly relied on Pfizer, AstraZeneca as well as Russia’s Sputnik-V, while the number of citizens that have received at least one jab is 55,926.
However, the number of citizens that have shown interest in getting the vaccine is relatively low in proportion to the population, respectively only 207,332.
The Ministry of Health says it is “optimistic” that it will immunize a significant percentage ahead of the summer season.
