As this week it has been highly anticipated that the COVID-19 Experts Committee will recommend lifting some of the pandemic-related measures, Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu called for prudence and the need to wear a mask and respect the safe distance, despite the relaxation of the social-economic life.

“Our experts are reviewing the measures, but everything depends on how the pandemic will progress. The gradual relaxation of the social-economic life must be absolutely followed by respecting physical distance measures, continuing to wear a mask, in order not to take backward steps and continue determined in this last kilometer of returning in the so longed normality”, said Manastirliu.

During her word at the podium of the Assembly, the health minister said that over 100.000 citizens have received both vaccine doses and confirmed that other supplies will be arriving in the upcoming days.

Minister Manastirliu noted that the pandemic situation is now stable but appealed to citizens not to lower the guard.

Around 5178,680 vaccine doses have been administered since Albania rolled out the vaccination campaign, of which over 419,200 to citizens over the age of 60.
