Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to allegations thrown by opposition leader Lulzim Basha accusing him of meddling with the electoral process.

On Twitter, PM Rama said political battles are “not a priority” for his administration, adding that the main focus will be on “making Albania a champion of the Balkans”.

“Let them deal with, we will deal with climbing Albania to the top,” said Rama, adding that the invitation to cooperate remains in place.

On Tuesday, the leader of the Democrats Lulzim Basha accused PM Edi Rama of meddling with the votes and has been describing the polls as “an electoral massacre”.

“April 25 was an electoral massacre, whose victim is not the Democratic Party and our MPs, the result speaks clearly. The trust, and hope that we awoke and united despite the unprecedented role of organized crime and dirty money, and as the preliminary OSCE/ODIHR report stated, the melting lines that divide the party with the state, were not able to diminish or decrease the proportions of the united Albanians”, said Basha.
