The Democratic Party will be submitting today a folder of complaints at the Central Election Commission.

The DP is rejecting the election results in 9 counties.

The Democrats have described the parliamentary polls held on April 25 as “an electoral massacre” claiming that a massive vote-buying phenomenon took place, as well as using the public administration and even threatening citizens.

Accordingly, the Democrats are seeking to declare the results as invalid in several counties claiming that the electoral process “was not fair” and the “will of the people has been distorted”.

According to the evidence gathered by candidates, counters, and observers of the Democratic Party at polling stations, the ruling majority has “has used state assets” to manipulate the outcome of the elections.

Among the evidence that has been claimed to be presented at CEC are recent employments in public administration posts in the past 3 months, doubling financial assistance and using state assets, but also paying out compensation for the earthquake in the week before election day.

DP’s complaint will force CEC to automatically postpone by 20 days the announcement for the final results of the elections.
