In Pogradec, a city in southeastern Albania, massive vaccination with Sinovac has been currently suspended for two days, meanwhile, there are around 1.000 citizens awaiting to get the second vaccine shot.
More vaccine supplies are expected to arrive next week, local health authorities say, while so far 12.000 doses have been administered.
In Korça health authorities are administering Pfizer jabs as a result of insufficient vaccines from the Chinese manufacturer Sinovac. Citizens in line to get a second dose have been told they will be called upon as soon as the vaccine batch arrives.
Over 32.000 doses have been injected in Korça, with 22.000 citizens getting at least one dose.
On Tuesday, vaccine shortages resulted in long queues at the vaccination center in Tirana but were considerably reduced the day after.
Responding to an inquiry from Euronews Albania, the Health Ministry said that the vaccination process has “not stopped” but is continuing at a slower pace while vaccine supplies are set to arrive in a few days.
