The British Embassy to Albania has reacted after today’s judgment of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime that sentenced the former General Prosecutor Adriatik Llalla to two years in prison.

Through a post on their official Facebook page, the British embassy welcomes this verdict by the GJKKO, which according to them shows that no one is above the law.

“We welcome the ruling of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime today. It shows that, where there’s will, the reforms can produce results,”

When the justice sector is working properly, nobody is above the law,” wrote the declaration of the British Embassy in Tirana.

The Special Court found the former General Prosecutor Adriatik Llalla guilty, under the accuse of “refusal to declare” and “hiding one’s assets”.

Judge Daniela Shirka sentenced the former General Prosecutor to two years in prison and revoked his right to exercise any public functions for a 5-year period.
