Albania’s Prosecutor General Olsian Çeka called on the High Justice Inspectorate to roll out a disciplinary proceeding against Belina Zeneli and Xhoana Mehmetaj, prosecutors at the First Instance Prosecution Office in Dibra.
According to a statement released by the Prosecution Office, the two prosecutors have allegedly infringed the Code of Criminal Procedure.
In addition, the chief prosecutor of Dibra will also be investigated over the steps he took to prevent the situation at the Prosecution Office of Dibra.
“The General Prosecutor supports all the initiatives contributing to the well-functioning of the prosecution at all levels, aiming to increase accountability of the prosecutors while they exercise their duty and erasing impunity within justice institutions”, the announcement wrote.
