The recount process for 114 ballot boxes in the electoral district of Berat is complete.
As a result of this recount, there haven’t been any changes in terms of the distribution of mandates, but the gap between the Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration has narrowed down from a difference of 58 votes to 77 votes, since the last time this CEAZ had announced the results.
At this moment, the Commission of Appeals and Sanctions will assemble to reach a verdict and it remains to be seen whether or not SMI will ask for the recount of the remaining ballot boxes in this district.
A few days ago, the Commission of Appeals and Sanctions (CAS) overturned the request of DP and SMI to nullify the results of April 25th’s elections and repeat the elections in the district of Berat.
Likewise, CAS decided to overturn the appeals of the Democratic Party and SMI regarding the district of Gjirokaster.
Yesterday, CAS overturned DP’s and SMI’s requests to invalidate the results of the April 25th’s general elections in the district of Vlora.
