The US ambassador to Albania has once again spoken on the justice system and current issues facing our country, through a post on her personal Twitter account. In her post, she mentioned the stagnation of the judicial body, being the Constitutional Court for 3 years calling it a ‘paralysis’ and continued by congratulating its work, since “becoming functional again in December 2020”.
“After 3 years of paralysis, Constitutional Court became functional Dec 2020. Since then, the Court has reviewed 100 cases and issued 25 decisions,” wrote the US ambassador’s post.
US ambassador Kim continued her statement by saying that “tough cases” are still being processed, insinuating that we will be seeing more convictions in the high levels of corruption, in the upcoming future. Yuri Kim ended her post by saying that the US will continue to offer our country support until the total functionality of the justice system in Albania has been restored.
“Tough cases coming up. Justice reform is real. The US will be with Albania, until the justice system is fully functional,” ended the US ambassador’s post.
