Involvement in narcotrafficking is suspected to be the cause of Delion Troqe’s murder in Vlora, on Friday night. The 38-year-old – whose name law enforcement authorities weren’t totally unaware of – had returned home from Spain only a few days before his murder. Investigators suspect that it’s there, that he had gotten involved in criminal activities, which became the cause for his physical elimination, which according to the investigative team, was conducted through a contract killer also known as a hitman.
Troqe’s murder a few days ago, will go on record as the 6th criminal incident in our country, during the timespan of 3 weeks, the first 3 weeks of May, translated to 5 more than the same time, last year. Vlora and Shkodra are the cities that have in recent weeks, produced the most criminality in our country. In the coastal city, 10 days before the elimination of the 38-year-old, Delion Troqe, citizen Bledar Bircaj would get executed, who had also returned from Spain a few days before getting shot to death. Authorities have yet to find a significant lead pointing to the possible author or authors of the murders.
Everest Caka, in Elbasan would meet the same fate as the two young men from Vlora. Shortly after returning home from Belgium, he was killed the night of May 11th. In this case too, the authors of the murder have yet to identified by authorities, but just like in the two cases in the city of Vlora, they suspect the possibility of hired assassins. According to experts, these incidents, as well as many more happening in our country, are all tied by the same cause: disputes regarding major drug deals that take place out of the country.
Despite the fact that the involvement of Albanian citizens in drug trafficking around the world isn’t an unheard-of phenomenon, the rising number of criminal incidents during 2021, according to authorities, has become a great cause for concern.
Referring to reports from the period January-May, 24 criminal activities and 24 victims have been registered in our country; 4 victims more than the same period, last year.
