The Commission on Appeals and Sanctions started the recount process of 108 voting stations around the district of Durres.

This came as a result of CAS’s authorized the request of the Socialist Movement for Integration to recount ballots in these centers.

Euronews Albania learned that 8 counting groups have been appointed at CAS, in order to deal with the verification and recount of the ballots in this district.

During previous meetings, as a result of another request by SMI, 114 ballot boxes were reopened in the district of Berat, but the recounting process only brought about a narrowing of the difference between SP’s and SMI’s final results.

Likewise, CAS has decided on overruling the appeal requests from DP and SMI regarding the district of Gjirokaster.

The same went for DP’s and SMI’s appeals to invalidate the results of the April 25^th elections in the district of Vlora, because of alleged manipulation and electoral fraud.
