It appears that Albania may finally be looking at some light at the end of the tunnel as the Ministry of Health confirmed that no deaths have been reported over the last 24 hours, a first in more than 8 months of battling the pandemic.
New infections also remain low, a trend that has been persistent in the past weeks, with only 15 cases recorded across the country.
So far, nearly 129.000 citizens have defeated the virus, while there are 43 patients being treated at the hospital, of which 7 in the ICU.
Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu took it to Twitter to claim the small victory against the virus, writing that there have been no daily deaths reported for the first time in 244 days.
The official death toll from the virus is 2.691, according to a tally kept by health authorities.
