The Commission for Appeals and Sanctions has wrapped up the recounting process for 108 ballot boxes in Durres.
Euronews Albania journalist Ardit Hoxha reports that the Democrats have lost 38 votes, the Socialists 26, and the Socialist Movement for Integration only 1.
This means that the Socialists get to keep their 8 mandates in the county.
It was the Socialist Movement for Integration that sought a recounting of the ballots in Durres. The process is being conducted by 8 counting teams.
On previous meetings, and once again upon SMI’s request, another 114 boxes were opened in Berat but without bringing any significant result, apart from narrowing the difference between the SP and SMI.
CAS has previously overturned the opposition’s request to declare poll results in Vlora as invalid, meanwhile the commission will have to review other claims on Lezha, Elbasan, Fier, and Korca.
