Heavy rainfall has caused a real natural disaster in the Presheva Valley, which has reported significant material damages. Authorities have already declared a state of emergency in two villages that were severely damaged.
Authorities are trying to gather financial funds reaching out to the governments of Serbia, Kosovo, and Albania.
“To overcome this difficult situation for the Presheva Valley and the citizens affected by the rainfall we reached for aid to the Serbian government. We also wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti as well as to the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj”, said Ardita Sinani, mayor of Presheva.

Shaip Kamberi, an Albanian MP in the Serbian parliament said that severe damage has been detected in infrastructure, family businesses, and homes and appealed for help.
“Presheva needs help. It needs support. I encourage all institutional representatives in Kosovo and Albania to stand by our side and its citizens. Natural catastrophes cannot be stopped even if we all get together, but we can stand in solidarity and provide concrete support to repair the damage, help the families and businesses that were damaged. Tirana, our mutual capital, took its first step. I would like to thank mayor Veliaj”, said Kamberi.
