The Ambassador of the European Union to Albania Luigi Soreca told Euronews Albania that he will always be a staunch supporter of the country’s natural beauties.
He weighed in on the importance that cooperation between local, state and businesses has in the advance of the tourism sector.
“If you follow me on social media, I have become an ambassador of the beauties in Albania. Albania had great tourism potential. What needs to be done is the cooperation of everyone for green tourism. So as to have a diversity of offers. This is what we are discussing”, said Ambassador Soreca.
The EU Ambassador also reiterated the union’s financial support to bring tourism up to its feet.
“Our financial assistance is here. We have €40 million at your disposal based on two conditions. Sustainable tourism and coordination of all the actors involved. Now that the pandemic situation has improved in Albania and the vaccination process is advancing with a good pace, we hope for a return to normality in tourism”, added Ambassador Soreca.
The head of the EU Mission to Albania made the comments while on a visit in Saranda and Delvina as part of Europe Weeks 2021.
