The Electoral College discarded the claims of the Democratic Party and Socialist Movement for Integration as “legally baseless”.

DP and SMI had called on the authority to designate the elections as invalid as well as undergo revoting amid allegations of vote-rigging.

Initially, the College dropped DP’s request to retrieve additional information and present them as evidence of the alleged electoral fraud.

The Socialists won by a majority of 53.83% of the votes in Gjirokastra with an over 10.000 vote difference from the DP, while SMI could not secure a vote although it got 5.800 votes.

Accordingly, the SP won 3 mandates and DP only 1.

Also, CAS is set to deliver today its conclusion for another three districts, namely, Fieri, Korca, and Elbasan.
