Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has reacted to remarks coming from Kosovo’s PM Albin Kurti who stated that “there cannot be a monoethnic association in Kosovo”.

Në një konferencë për media pas takimit me një delegacion të Republikës Serbe, Vuçiç tha se Kurti “po shantazhon”.

In a press conference held following a meeting with the Serbian delegation at the dialogue process, President Vucic said that “Kurti is blackmailing us”.

“Given the fact that Albin Kurti is blackmailing us, I will be treating him as every representative of “an interim institution”. If he doesn’t like that, then he can try to do something. But I wouldn’t recommend that to him”, Vucic said.

Furthermore, Vucic also spoke about previous declarations that Serbia is being pressured by the international community in recognizing Kosovo.

“I didn’t sign for the recognition when I was at the White house. People shouldn’t worry about this. Our duty is to discuss. If Kurti thinks that he won’t talk about the association, then he doesn’t have to come to the meeting”, emphasized Vucic.

On Tuesday, Kurti said that it is imperative to integrate all citizens in the agreement, regardless of their ethnicity.
