The Democratic Party demands the exclusion of the 7 Judges of the Electoral College, who dropped the opposition’s lawsuits for the counties of Gjirokaster, Vlore and Berat.
According to DP, taking into consideration the decisions made by these Judges to date, it is clear that “they have refused to be transparent regarding the electoral massacre of April 25th”.
“Their refusal of DP’s requests, for the official retrieval of footage and evidence, puts these judges at a position of incompetence to give a non-bias judgment in the future, regarding DP’s 6 other similar requests, that deal with vote-buying and the deformation of electoral results through the use of state authority in the interest of SP,” states in DP’s written statement.
In their request for the replacement of the 7 judges of the Electoral College, DP argues that seeing that these judges have by now expressed their opinion against the demands of the Democratic Party regarding the elections, they will continue to hold the same stance.
“This leads to the upcoming verdicts on DP’s 6 other lawsuits to be predetermined, – something that violates the Constitution and the Electoral Code, which demand an impartial process. DP, therefore, assesses that the continuation of our appeals proceedings with the same judicial body, – that has expressed its opposing views towards DP’s request for transparency during the elections 3 times in a row, – is a violation of the fundamental principles of the Court of Strasburg on fair judgment,” continues in DP’s statement.
