The results of the April 25 elections, in most of the cases, surpassed the expectations of those who cast their ballot under the Socialist Party’s banner, while the Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration let down nearly more than half of their supporters, who instead were expecting a much more positive performance.

These were the conclusions retrieved following a survey conducted by Euronews Albania and the prestigious company MRB, where it was noted that only an insignificant amount of Democrat voters (1.6%) said that the party did “better than expected”.

Voters of the Socialist Party said that it performed:

  • As well as I expected – 15.8%
  • Somewhat better from what I had expected – 28.7%
  • Much better than I had expected – 26.3%
  • As bad as I had expected – 11.3%
  • Somewhat worse from what I had expected – 7.3%
  • Much worse than I had expected – 7.1%

Voters of the Democratic Party said that it performed:

  • As well as I expected – 15.8%
  • Somewhat better from what I had expected – 12.4%
  • Much better than I had expected – 1.6%
  • As bad as I had expected – 18.7%
  • Somewhat worse from what I had expected – 28.7%
  • Much worse than I had expected – 21.2%

Voters of the Socialist Movement for Integration said that it performed:

  • As well as I expected – 6.4%
  • Somewhat better from what I had expected – 3%
  • Much better than I had expected – 2.4%
  • As bad as I had expected – 23.6%
  • Somewhat worse from what I had expected – 22.3%
  • Much worse than I had expected – 41.2%

Methodology

The survey was done for Euronews Albania by the prestigious company MRB who conducted 1.000 face-to-face interviews (49.5% male, 50.5% female) in urban and rural areas with eligible voters (+18) from May 25 until June 2.
