On Sunday, members of the Democratic Party headed to the ballots to choose their new leader for the upcoming 4 years.
Former Prime Minister and one of the founders of the party, Sali Berisha, said that the Democrats will be even more united after these elections as every candidate has expressed their perspective.
“The candidates have presented their perspective, which is completely normal, but candidates have also vowed that they will continue to make efforts for the Democratic Party regardless of the result”, Berisha said.
Referring to previous statements where he did not exclude a potential return to the DP, Berisha joked that he “is consistent in his declarations”.
Racing for the party’s top post is incumbent leader Lulzim Basha and three other contenders, namely Agron Shehaj, Edit Harxhi, and Fatbardh Kadilli.
