One of the candidates running in the Democratic Party’s Leadership vote, successful businessman, Agron Shehaj, has reacted a few minutes after the publication of the official results. Shehaj expressed his gratitude to all the democrats that voted for him, with the aim of bringing a new spirit and a new approach to politics.

“I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, all you democrats that voted for me. I am grateful for you and all the citizens that trusted in me and supported me, in bringing a new spirit and a new approach to the political scene. I feel immensely grateful towards the observers and the team that worked with me during these 3 weeks,” declared Shehaj.

Agron Shehaj was one of the four candidates in the June 13^th electoral race for the new leader of DP. At the end of the counting process, the clear winner was Lulzim Basha with 32882 votes out of a total of 41090 members that participated in the polls. Agron Shehaj received 6038 votes, Edith Harxhi 983, and Fatbardh Kadilli 781 votes.
