The EU ambassador, Luigi Soreca met with Lulzim Basha earlier today, after the leader of DP was reconfirmed in power, following his obvious victory in the party’s Leadership vote.

Through a post on Twitter, Soreca spoke on the two important matters they discussed about during their meeting.

“After his re-election as Chairman of DP, I met today with Lulzim Basha to discuss the current political situation in the run-up to the new legislature starting next September, as well as the important next steps in the EU integration process of Albania,” wrote ambassador Soreca.

After received 81% of votes in June 13^th’s race, the Chair of the Democratic Party thanked the other candidates in the race, saying that now is the time for them to go on the attack, as a united opposition against the common enemy, which he deemed the “Rama-Doshi regime” and to restore dignity in Albania.
