OSCE Presence in Albania organized the conference “Joint Efforts to Combat trafficking in human beings in Albania”.

US Ambassador to Albania Yuri Kim, who also attended the event, recalled that the executive order signed by President Joe Biden also extends to those involved in human trafficking, who risk being banned from entering US territory as well as getting their property seized.

The Ambassador said that President Biden has made it clear that “corruption and other forms of destabilizing crimes” are a matter of concern to the US.

“We want to highlight the importance of combatting human rights abuses in Albania, including here the trafficking of human beings. The executive order of President Biden on the Western Balkans covers the fight against human trafficking and we want to make it clear to those responsible for human trafficking: if you traffic human beings, you will be barred entrance into the United States, regardless of you’re visa. If you traffic human begins, the US will seize wealth deriving from this activity”, Ambassador Yuri Kim said.
