The reopening of air borders has come along with a rise in ticket prices at Tirana International Airport (TIA).

As passenger influx is expected to increase during the summer months, so will the cost for travel, although the opening of the new airport in Kukes is set to balance out the situation.

In a simple online search on ticket prices, in a span from Jul1 1 to August 31, the cheapest ticket for Frankfurt would be on July 7, while the most expensive ones are listed at the end of August.

For other destinations, such as Milan or Vienna, where during the pandemic one could easily book a €20-30 ticket, prices have catapulted to an average of €200-€300.

The same prices can be seen on flights to Athens, with the cheapest ticket found in August and the most expensive on July 3.

Meanwhile, at the Airport of Kukes operating low-cost flights on two confirmed destinations so far, namely Istanbul and Zurich, the airline ticket for a roundtrip varies from 85$ to 200$.
