The Minister of Environment and Tourism, Blendi Klosi was invited to Euronews Albania’s Raw Politics, during which he said that illegal constructions built on coastal areas won’t be tolerated.

Klosi told host, Erla Mehilli that these objects built without a proper building permit have been proliferating especially during the electoral campaign and this according to him, has happened because the vigilance of responsible institutions at the time, was lower than usual.

“Albania doesn’t only have one season; Albania should have a season that works 12 months of the year. What we really want to make happen at this point and level of tourism development in our country is to allow for true investments that help in realizing the true potential of tourism in our country. I believe that this national gem that is our sand, shouldn’t be allowed to be usurped. This is the essence of the conversation. The constructions have been built during the campaign. Last year we brought down several buildings that were put up in Spring, and this year we’ll do exactly the same,” said minister Klosi.

In turn, he continued by saying that we shouldn’t defend those people that occupy public spaces and build around coastal areas without knowing any limits.

“These illegal objects are built by the bad guys. Normal citizens don’t construct illegal buildings. We can’t be defense attorneys to those that are building without a permit,” emphasized Klosi.
