Although the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Albanian citizens can travel to Greece for non-essential reasons, the situation at the Kapshtica border crossing portrays a different picture. Albanian citizens are not being allowed to cross to the neighboring country.

Albania’s Ambassador to Greece, Luela Hajdaraga, said in an interview that the travel restrictions have been lifted, however the number of citizens that will be allowed to cross the border, remains limited.

She noted that as of Saturday every Albanian citizen can travel to Greece, but the Kapshtica border crossing will be open only to seasonal workers.

Ambassador Hajdaraga said that the limited quotas will remain the same until June 28.

Luela Hajdaraga stressed the importance of the PLF form, without which one cannot travel to the neighboring country.

“All travelers must present the PLF form which is available at travel.gov.gr, this form is very important and no one can travel to the Greek state without being equipped with one,” said the ambassador.
