The Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic gave a statement saying that on June 29th, he will be holding a video conference with the prime ministers of Albania and North Macedonia, regarding the amelioration of relations within the scope of the regional Schengen initiative.
The regional Schengen is a joint initiative of president Vucic, the Albanian PM, Edi Rama and the Macedonian PM, Zoran Zaev, – with the goal of improving the economic development and cooperation amongst the countries of the region. Kosovo has refused to partake in this initiative.
Vucic said on Thursday that what he expects from this meeting is being able to reach certain joint decisions regarding taking necessary action in the face of natural catastrophes as well as contributing to an easier circulation of people, goods and capital. The Serbian president also commented on the European Union’s decision to not set a date for the accession of negotiating for Albania and North Macedonia, considering it unfair, on EU’s part.
