US ambassador, Yuri Kim reacted immediately after today’s arrest of the mayor of Lushnje, Fatos Tushe.
Through a post on her social media account, the high American official stated that the time has come for everyone involved in corruptive affairs, no matter how powerful they may be, to be convicted of their crimes.
“If you are engaged in corruption – no matter how powerful you think you are – now is the time to consider the impact your actions will have on your family & country.
Now is the time to consider whether it’s worth going to prison. Now is the time to stop. No one is above the law,” wrote ambassador Kim on her post regarding the mayor put in custody for alleged abuse of power.
