The Chair of the Democratic Party in Lushnje, has also reacted after today’s arrest of the mayor of Lushnje on suspicions of abuse of power and corruption.
The leader of the democrats shared his remarks on his personal social media account, saying that Tushe’s arrest came after many of DP’s filed reports and denunciations, which is why it could be a sign to a good start.
“The arrest of Fatos Tusha, after many years of countless denunciations by DP, against his corrupt cooperation with organized crime, could be a good start. But, this will greatly depend on the ability, courage and independence of the judiciary to crack down the links of those in power with crime, the links of ‘Revenge for Justice’ [criminal organization] with Tushe, Brace and Rama himself, and their mutual benefits throughout their long years of cooperation,” wrote Basha.
The mayor of Lushnje, Fatos Tushe was arrested earlier this morning, after being accused of “abusing his power”. 10 other public officials were also arrested in the same operation.
Meanwhile, GJKKO has ordered for mayor Tushe and 6 other individuals to remain in custody, whereas 4 others were placed on house arrest.
