11 citizens were arrested in Vlore and Shkoder by police authorities because they had turned their businesses into premises for illegal gambling activities.
The operation called ‘Semi-finals’ coincides with the period, during which Euro 2020 soccer championship games are being broadcasted in bars and businesses nationwide.
In Shkoder, 5 people were arrested and 6 others are being investigated, whereas in Vlora 6 people were arrested and 2 are under investigation.
Apart from illegal gambling practices, they are also being accused of hiding their wealth, using their premises for illegal gambling games and electronic fraud.
