Kosovo is set to review its pandemic-related measures amid growing concern of a quick-spreading Delta strain.
The development was confirmed by health minister Arben Vitia, who after received the COVID-19 vaccine jab, said that every citizen will get a shot.
“The Delta strain is present even in our country. We should lay the question whether to get the vaccine and be liberated or return to overburdened hospitals”, he said, while encouraging citizens to get vaccinated.
The health minister said that a meeting between experts will take place this week in order to revise the current measures.
“A revision of the measures will happen this week. We will talk to experts. As soon as we get a recommendation from the experts, we’ll let the citizens know”, added Vitia.
More than 105,000 have tested positive to COVID-19 from the beginning of the pandemic, while the virus has claimed the lives of 2,264 citizens.
