The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with his Greek counterpart PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis and called on him to recognize Kosovo.
Mitsotakis reconfirmed the commitment of Greece in promoting and fostering further bilateral cooperation, although the country is among the five EU member states that do not officially recognize Kosovo.

During the meeting, the two counterparts also discussed boosting economic relations.
Recently, high-ranking officials from both sides have started meeting more often. On June 4, Greek foreign minister Nikos Dendias visited Kosovo and announced that another visit will follow in a few months.
At the time, the Greek diplomat said that the country endorses the continuation of the dialogue with Serbia.
However, this rapprochement has not been welcomed by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who just recently declared that he will ask Greece to halt deepening relations with Greece, amid concerns that the potential next move could be the official recognition of Kosovo as a sovereign state.
