During an official visit in Montenegro, the U.S Department of State’s Special Envoy, Matthew Palmer made called on the Montenegrin high public officials, to show extra caution in their business relations with China.
Palmer’s comments during his meetings with the political leaders of Montenegro on July 8th, prompted the reaction of the Chinese embassy in Podgorica.
Responding to the comments made by the Deputy Secretary of the U.S Department of State, the Chinese embassy argued that the economic relations between China and Montenegro have been built on the foundation of bilateral profit.
“China is happy to see Montenegro develop relations and strengthen cooperation with other countries, so long as those countries refrain from speaking irresponsibly about the China-Montenegro relations,” said the reaction of the Chinese embassy.
Their statement also continued by claiming that the high U.S official has made an appeal to Montenegrin leaders to be careful about their relations with China.
