“The association wasn’t mentioned, not in one single sentence”. These were the statements of Kosovo’s Deputy Prime minister, Besnik Bislimi, a week after his meeting in Brussels with representatives of the Serbian delegation.
“The only matter, where our stance and the EU’s hasn’t been the same, has been the issue of the signboards with the abbreviation KS (identifiable for the Republic of Kosovo),” wrote the deputy PM, through a post on Facebook.
He emphasized that during his meeting, the following notion was discussed: “Only at a time when, there won’t be any Serbian parallel structures in Kosovo, when there won’t be any more illegal funding from Serbia and when no one in Europe will challenge the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo, only then can we sit down and seriously discuss regarding the most appropriate modality for the protection and advancement of the rights of minorities,”.
He also declared that 11 agreements have been identified, regarding which Serbia hasn’t fulfilled its obligations.
Meanwhile, the Serbian side has raised 5 cases, through which it is claiming that Kosovo hasn’t fulfilled on its obligations, the main focus of which is the association of the Serbian majority communes.
