At the 26th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, the Serbian PM, Ana Brnebić stated that back in 1995 “a horrible crime” took place in Srebrenica however, she added that Serbian officials will not be participating in the commemorative activities up until the moment, when the people that attacked the then-Serbian PM, Aleksandar Vucic, 6 years ago, get criminally prosecuted.
On July 2015, Vucic participated in the event commemorating the victims of this genocide at the commemorative center in Potocari in Srebrenica, where several of those present, unhappy with his attendance, threw plastic bottles and other objects in his direction.
During the Bosnia War in the 90s, Vucic was an official of the Radical Serbian Party, which had its own paramilitary formations at the battlefields in Bosnia Hercegovina and Croatia.
